Eugene Chen is a partner in Hogan Lovells' Shanghai office.  With over 18 years of combined litigation experience in the US and China, Eugene helps clients navigate the complexities of China-related product disputes. With a deep understanding of the Chinese regulatory and business environments, he helps Western clients proactively confront problems they face when doing business in China. 

Eugene focuses primarily on product liability/product quality disputes, internal investigations, local and international anti-corruption enforcement actions, and complex commercial disputes. For Chinese companies involved in international disputes, he serves as a valuable advocate and guide to operating in a foreign legal regime.

Eugene has been on the ground in mainland China since 2007. He works closely with our international products practice, advising on product liability, compliance and product recall matters in China. As a former food and drug attorney, he has particular knowledge of issues facing life sciences companies, from commercial bribery investigations to product liability cases involving clinical trials and serious adverse reactions.
