In September 2014, Patricia H. Adkins was appointed by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) as its Executive Director, serving under Chairman Elliot F. Kaye. Ms. Adkins is responsible for managing the agency’s $125 million public health and safety budget and more than 500 employees. She also served the Commission for more than seven years as the Chief of Staff to former Chairman Ann Brown.
For more than 30 years, Ms. Adkins has held leadership positions in public health, injury prevention, business operations, and public policy with organizations such as Purdue Pharma L.P., the Children’s National Medical Center’s Safe Kids Worldwide, and the Home Safety Council.
Ms. Adkins earned her B.A. and M.B.A from Howard University in Washington, D.C.
