Antonio Fernandes is the Director of QA and Regulatory Affairs and Compliance for Dorel Juvenile USA’s Design and Development Center’s Quality Management System. Mr. Fernandes has over 20 years of experience in product development and regulatory affairs. He oversees Quality Engineering, Regulatory Affairs and Compliance, Research and Development Laboratory and the Internal Auditing Program. He is a member of JPMA’s Certification Committee, sits on ASTM F15 Committee and Chairs the Portable Bedrail Subcommittee. Mr. Fernandes represents Dorel in legal matters and is responsible for promoting and issuing product safety practices, procedures and policies globally while ensuring new products are compliant prior to market release. He serves as liaison to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Federal Communications Commission, Food and Drug Administration and Federal Trade Commission.
Mr. Fernandes provides corporate training to various product development disciplines within his organization in the areas of product development, risk management, failure modes and effects analysis, quality function deployment and statistics.
Mr. Fernandes is a senior member of the American Society for Quality and a member of the Project Management Institute.
Mr. Fernandes holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology, a Master’s in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Finance from Boston College. He is a Certified Professional Project Manager and holds certifications as a Quality Engineer, Reliability Engineer, Software Quality Engineer, Quality Auditor, Six Sigma Black Belt, Biomedical Auditor, and Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence from ASQ. Mr. Fernandes is also a Certified Six Sigma Lean Master Black Belt.
