Kelli heads DibbsBarker’s product liability team. She has extensive experience in product liability claims and compliance, insurance law, occupational health and safety and risk management, and has acted for more than 25 years on behalf of insurers, corporations, government bodies and instrumentalities including multinational corporations.
She advises national and international clients and their insurers in the management of their product liability risks, including compliance with legislative and reporting obligations and the conduct of product liability claims. She has appeared before courts, regulatory bodies, Parliamentary inquiries and coronial inquests throughout Australia and assists her clients to implement internal procedures to protect their interests and limit their risks.
Kelli acts as Australian National Counsel for product liability claims for a number of international organisations and routinely defends death, catastrophic injury and major property damage product liability cases arising out of a wide variety of products. Kelli also provides extensive advice in product liability compliance and risk management including conducting recalls, assisting in drafting recall policies, codes of practice, guidelines and advisory standards.
Kelli is a past President of the Australian Insurance Law Association (AILA) and past Chairman of AILA’s Queensland state branch. Her longstanding contribution has been recognised with life membership. Kelli is also the only Australia based member of the Product Liability Advisory Council in the US. For 15 years Kelli was a member of the Workplace Health & Safety Board Queensland, the peak advisory body to the Queensland Government on workplace health and safety matters which, in Australia, includes the obligations of manufacturers, importers and suppliers in the workplace.
In her free time, Kelli enjoys travelling the world with her husband.
